QUE SAKAMOTO [Tokyo]

Que Sakamoto is a Tokyo DJ/Producer who has become Japan’s newest export to the world. From his deep roots in the Tokyo underground, he now finds himself outside Japan spending most of the year on his relentless continental tours of Europe, Asia and the Americas.
It started in 2014 when he debuted internationally in Italy as the first Japanese DJ to play ‘Open to Last’ at Milan’s 65MQ. Ever since that moment he saw his future beyond Japan and onto the world stage.
As a founding member of the Huit Etoiles collective he returns to Tokyo to host parties at Vent with the hottest acts from major underground labels. Recently Huit Etoiles celebrated their 5th Anniversary to the delight of the Tokyo underground scene, the local and international DJs and the Vent management.
With his production “Ninja Wa Sugoi” the name Que Sakamoto spread world-wide with airplay by Red Axes on Pete Tong’s BBC Radio One Essential Mix and again by Red Axes at the Garzen Festival in Vilnius, Lithuania on Automat Radio. This track has garnered support from the Hardway Brothers (AFLOS), Ivan Smagghe, Moscoman, Autarkic, Marvin & Guy, Zombies In Miami, Khidja and Mehmet Aslan.
Que’s first vinyl release was on To Rack & Ruin’s (UK) Edit series with the tracks ‘Mr. Moonlight’ and ‘Salut Des Frangines’. After that his next vinyl release was on Roam Recordings with the track ‘Lalo’ in collaboration with NT which achieved a Top 5 ranking in Beatport’s Indie/Nu Disco Must Hear Chart in March of 2017.
His latest release in 2019 is on Chris Stoker and Andy Bainbridge’s Not An Animal Records and includes his track ‘Uchuu Hikoshi’ with a remix by Apiento Ae6 and his track ‘Kamakura’ with a remix by Vyvyan.
Expect future releases on labels HardFist, Dunganga and with more in the works.
Que has made various live appearances for online radio across the globe with highlights at Red Light Radio in 2017 and at Beats In Space Radio Show #963 in 2018.
2019 is an exciting year for Que with his continuing intercontinental tours expanding into new countries, new cities and venues. This December he plays the SUBSONIC MUSIC FESTIVAL as a first round artist with the one of the biggest and best line-ups in Australia this year.
